OEE MANAGEMENT

Measure OEE — then fix the losses behind it

PlantOps360 calculates availability, performance and quality for every machine and line, shows where production time is lost, and turns each loss into a maintenance work order — so OEE goes up and downtime comes down.

WHY IT MATTERS

Stop guessing where production time goes

Most plants know they lose time. Few can say how much, on which machine, or why. OEE puts one honest number on it — and PlantOps360 links that number to the maintenance work that moves it.

+12–18%

Higher OEE

Customers report double-digit OEE gains once every stop has a reason, an owner and a fix.

−35–40%

Less downtime

Find the repeat causes behind breakdowns and slow repairs, and fix them at the root.

−25–30%

Less scrap and waste

See start-up and production rejects by machine and shift, and act before quality drifts.

↑

Higher availability

Turn every breakdown into a work order with history and spares attached, so repairs finish sooner.

A×P×Q

One honest number

Availability × performance × quality gives each machine, line and plant a single score you can trust and compare.

TPM

Built for TPM programs

OEE is TPM's main measure of success. Track it next to planned maintenance, checklists and failure records.

CAPABILITIES

From machine signal to work order

A complete OEE workflow inside PlantOps360 — from raw counts and stops to the work order that fixes the cause.

Machine and operator data

Capture counts and run status from PLCs, sensors and IIoT gateways, plus stop reasons logged by operators on the mobile app.

Automatic OEE calculation

Availability, performance and quality calculated per machine, line, shift and plant, with the same formula everywhere.

Live OEE dashboards

Live OEE by machine, line and plant with trends and top losses, next to MTBF, MTTR and PM compliance.

Downtime and loss tracking

Reason codes mapped to the six big losses, with a Pareto of what costs you the most production time.

Loss to work order

Raise a work order straight from a loss, with asset history, spare parts and checklist attached.

AI loss insights

AI flags abnormal machine behavior and repeat losses, and points to the likely cause from your failure history.

HOW IT WORKS

How OEE tracking works in four steps

1

Capture

Stream counts and run status from your machines, and let operators log stop reasons on the mobile app.

2

Measure

Availability, performance and quality are calculated automatically, and every loss is tied to its machine, line and shift.

3

Act

Raise a work order from the loss with history, spares and checklist attached, and assign it.

4

Improve

Record the cause in failure records and Why-Why, then watch OEE and downtime move.

WHO IT'S FOR

Built for plants where machine time sets the output

OEE matters most on the lines and machines that set the pace of production, where every lost hour hits both output and maintenance cost.

WHY OEE IN YOUR CMMS WINS

Stop guessing. Start recovering lost time.

Most plants swing between end-of-shift estimates and standalone tools that stop at a chart. OEE inside your CMMS closes the loop: you measure the loss and fix it in the same system.

WHAT IT FINDS

See the six big losses behind every lost hour

PlantOps360 sorts every stop and slow-down into the six big losses of TPM, so you can see which ones cost the most — by machine, line and shift.

Frequently asked questions

OEE (overall equipment effectiveness) is the share of planned production time that turns into good parts at full speed. It multiplies availability, performance and quality, so 100% would mean no stops, no slow running and no defects.
Availability is run time divided by planned production time. Performance is ideal cycle time multiplied by total count, divided by run time. Quality is good count divided by total count. OEE is the three multiplied together, calculated for every machine, line, shift and plant with the same formula.
Five numbers for each machine and period: planned production time, downtime, ideal cycle time, total count and good count. PlantOps360 takes them from machine, PLC and sensor data together with operator inputs on the mobile app.
No. You can start with operators logging counts and stop reasons on the mobile app and add PLC or IIoT gateways later for automatic capture on your most important lines.
From any stop or loss you can raise a corrective work order with the asset, its history, spare parts and a checklist attached. When the fix is done, the saved downtime shows up in the next OEE reading.
Breakdowns and long repairs are availability losses. Minor stops and slow running are performance losses. Start-up and production rejects are quality losses. All of these are equipment-condition problems, which is why maintenance has such a large effect on OEE.
85% is the widely quoted world-class benchmark for discrete manufacturing, from Seiichi Nakajima's work on Total Productive Maintenance. Many plants that measure honestly find they sit between 40% and 60%. The most useful target is steady improvement on your own bottleneck machine, not a number from another industry.
Plants in our customer stories report OEE gains of 12% to 18% together with 35% to 40% less downtime as they move from reactive to planned maintenance and fix repeat losses. Results depend on your starting point.
